Acetyl-L-carnitine is important for many processes in the body.  L-carnitine is produced in the human brain, liver and kidneys.  The body can convert L-carnitine to acetyl-L-carnitine and vice versa.
Acetyl-L-carnitine is sometimes used for Alzheimer's disease, to improve memory and thinking, to treat symptoms of depression, and to reduce nerve pain in people with diabetes.

The amino acid glutamine is the most prevalent in the body. It is produced in the muscles and transported to many organ systems by the blood.
Glutamine is a necessary component for the body's protein creation. It's also necessary for the synthesis of other amino acids and glucose. Supplementing with glutamine can aid with gut health, immunological function, and other activities, especially when the body is under stress and utilizes more glutamine.

Sold as a dietary supplement, huperzine A is typically touted as a treatment for Alzheimer's disease.Used in alternative medicine, huperzine A has been found to act as a cholinesterase inhibitor, a type of medicine used to prevent the breakdown of acetylcholine (a chemical essential to learning and memory)

Phosphatidylserine is a fatty substance called a phospholipid. It coats and protects your brain cells and relays messages between them.
Phosphatidylserine plays an important role in keeping the mind and memory sharp.  Animal studies show that brain levels of this substance decline with age.
